Jazz Connect Conference 2015


The Jazz Connect Conference, organized by JazzTimes and the Jazz Forward Coalition, has announced a tentative schedule for the annual gathering of the jazz community in 2015.  The conference will be held at Saint Peter’s Church in New York City and will lead into the annual APAP (Association of Performing Arts Presenters) Conference as well as Winter Jazzfest.

Now in its third year, the conference will continue to focus on vital issues affecting the jazz community carrying on the format and momentum from the January 2014 event which had over 800 registrants.

Many of the panel and workshop topics have been finalized, including:

  • Making Social Media Work
  • The Ways & Means of DIY Record Labels
  • Partnerships for Presenting
  • Jukebox Jury
  • Where’s the Money?
  • Where Are Our Rights?
  • The Role of Artistic Directors in Presenting Jazz
  • Replenishing the Audience for Jazz
  • The State of Jazz Radio

As in the past there will be “Ask the Experts” networking session and several others. The conference will also be introducing a new series of intensive workshops with specialized topics across the spectrum of jazz for more intimate in-depth discussions.
